Description
Hardy CC de France 7’0” 2pc 2tip No.18 — Mint Condition
An exceptional Hardy CC de France bamboo fly rod, 7’0” in length, 2-piece with 2 tips. This rod is in mint condition and remains in excellent overall shape, showing no signs of use or casting. It is No.18 from a limited run of only 25 rods.
The CC de France is one of Hardy’s most historic bamboo models, originally introduced in 1911. This special edition was created as a tribute to that celebrated model and was built from rare pre-embargo cane by two highly regarded craftsmen, Tom Moran and Callum Gladstone.
The rod features a beautiful blonde cane blank with a 3-up node pattern, brown wraps with brown intermediates, and cinnamon accents at the ferrules. The varnish has a deep, glass-like finish, complemented by an agate stripping guide and oxidized nickel silver fittings.
The grip is a slim 4.5” cigar style, paired with a 3.75” cork reel seat. The tapered nickel silver ring and pocket cap are finely machined and oxidized, with the serial number stamped on the ring. The pocket cap is stamped “Hardy Bros LTD, Makers, Alnwick England,” and the butt section is marked “The CC de France, Palokona, Reg’d Trademark 1911-2011.”
The rod features a dry fly style DF action and should pair beautifully with a #4 line. At 7’0”, it offers a refined, classic bamboo casting feel, well suited to delicate trout fishing as well as to collectors of fine English tackle.
Supplied with the original rod bag and a handsome leather case stamped “Hardy Brothers, Made in England.”
A rare and highly collectible Hardy bamboo fly rod with exceptional provenance, craftsmanship, and historical appeal.
