Description
TOKACHI TROUT RODS "Pirika" 7'5" #3/4 3pc 2 Tips(Mint Condition)
This is a used bamboo fly rod (unused in the field) handcrafted by Naoki Hashimoto, the third-generation Scott bamboo rod builder, under the name Tokachi Trout Rod.
Tokachi trout rod is built around a torquey and fast action, referred to as the “Tokachi Progressive Dry Action,” which serves as the core action concept across all models. This action combines an excellent progressive recovery with the ability to efficiently transfer line load into the butt section even under light loading. As a result, the entire rod generates quick, responsive torque, enabling high line speed and precise casting.
Within the same line weight, shorter rod lengths deliver an even faster feel. Custom handmade ferrules are used to integrate seamlessly with the rod taper, reducing weight while maintaining strength. The three-piece configuration also offers outstanding portability.
■ Pirika
In areas where houses become sparse, moderately wide rivers with clean flow nurture beautiful rainbow trout. Large bends shaded by riverside trees, often with fallen timber, create technically challenging spots. Fish bursting out of these deeper pools can exceed 40 cm, and once hooked, they leap repeatedly and fight with great energy. Fishing flat runs in the mid-reaches of such rivers delivers these rewarding experiences—this series is designed precisely for that style of fishing.
With a DT4F line and 5X tippet, this model’s torquey dry-fly action—paired with a slightly finer tip than other models—handles close-range casts of large dry flies with ease. The swelled butt provides ample butt power, enhancing both control over medium-sized fish and quick casting recovery.
For wider rivers or situations requiring a broader casting range and long drifts, a WF4F line can also be used effectively.
In the unlikely event of damage, after-sales service by the Naoki Hashimoto is available.
Included items: rod, rod sock, and rod tube.
